The United Methodist Women is a one-million member organization whose purpose is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice. Members raise more than $20 million a year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world. Any woman can be a member whether she is United Methodist or not.
Community UMC’s UMW participates in the ministries of the global UMW and has many local groups. These include:
- Book Circle, which meets monthly from September to May
- Knitting Circle, which meets Mondays at 7:00 pm to make prayer shawls and other knitted goods
- Sisterhood of Grace which meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 9:30 am and follows Sisterhood of Grace book to connect with our roots and explore our future
- Time Out! yoga and meditation group which meets at 6:00 pm on Thursdays
