STARS: Spiritual Time And Renewal for Survivors
(for survivors, caregivers and family of those with long term health issues including, but not limited to, stroke, cardiac issues, neurological issues, respiratory issues and cancer)
This monthly ecumenical outreach ministry is our newest offering. Services are designed to provide a safe and caring structured opportunity for survivors, their caregivers and interested others to participate in a program specifically designed to address the spiritual needs of these individuals in a way that preserves the dignity of participants and supports the development of a sense of wholeness, community, meaning and hope.
Schedule: Second Thursday; 1:15 pm – 3:00 pm
Interfaith Reminiscence and Fellowship Service
This ecumenical service is designed to involve participants in a faith based service that celebrates life. Music is a key part of the service. We sing the more traditional hymns learned and stored with memories from earlier days and enjoy the music of our guest vocalists and musicians. The meditations focus on seasonal topics that have meaning to the group from both a secular and religious points of view. Participants are involved in the service and encouraged to offer their thoughts and insights as we worship in the loving presence of our God.
Schedule: Third Wednesday; 10:30 am – 11:30 am (no service January – March 2016)
Off Site Services
(monthly services held at Brookdale Care Center and the Ecumenical Adult Care Center in Naperville)
Residents gather for a time of worship that includes Bible readings, prayer, singing of hymns, a meditation, and communion. These services enrich the lives of the participants by helping them to meet their spiritual needs while enjoying the camaraderie of attending a religious service with other residents.
Schedule: Brookdale; First Tuesday; 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Ecumenical Adult Care Center; Fourth Friday; 10:30 am – 11:00 am
