In October, we will have a new sermon series based on Bishop Rueben P. Job’s Three Simple Rules. Bishop Job explains that the Wesleyan movement has been formed based on these three simple rules: Do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God.
1 – October 13: Do No Harm
To do no harm is a proactive response to all that is evil – all that is damaging and destructive to humankind and God’s good creation, whether it be gossip, prejudice, speaking disparagingly about others, or violence.
2 – October 20: Do Good
Doing good is directed at everyone, even those who do not fit our category of “worthy” to receive any good. By doing good, we imitate Christ.
3 – October 27: Stay in Love with God
Staying in love with God is the foundation to all of life. It is in a vital relationship with God that we are enlivened, sustained, guided, called, sent, formed, and transformed. Only living in the healing, loving, redeeming presence of God will bring the transformation that is so desperately needed.
and more – Going Deeper Discussion Group
Tuesday, October 15, 22 & 29, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Room 308
During these three weeks, we will have a discussion group on Tuesday evenings to go deeper into each subject. The discussion group will be led by our pastors and will include a video in which Bishop Job explains about the topic of the week.
