Affordable Care Act Presentation by DuPage PADS
This presentation will provide information and a detailed understanding of the benefits of the Affordable Care Act and how it can possibly provide greater coverage for individuals and families.
One application will determine if you are eligible for tax deductible credits to assist in covering the cost of health insurance premiums, and/or a subsidy to reduce the out-of-pocket expenses of medical care.
DuPage PADS has specially trained Licensed Navigators and Illinois Assisters that will be availableÂ following the informational session to assist with questions about the Affordable Care Act and assist you in learning about the benefits you may be eligible for under the New Health Insurance Exchange Marketplace. Â Â Certified ACA Navigators will also be available for one-on-one enrollment.
If you think you would be interested in enrolling, you will need the following information:
- 2012 tax return
- Social Security Numbers (or document numbers for legal immigrants) NOTE: non-citizens who do not qualify are able to apply for family members who meet the qualified non-citizen rules
- Employer and income information for every member of your household who needs coverage (for example, from pay stubs or W-2 forms â€”Wage and Tax Statements)
- Permanent resident card (even if you haven’t lived in the U.S. for five years you can still purchase insurance through the Marketplace and you may be eligible for discounts and/or tax savings.
DuPage PADS Navigators can also assist with these additional services:
Medicaid, Food Stamps, a subsidy to help pay for child care, cash assistance, tax credits to help pay for health insurance premiums, and/or a subsidy to reduce the out-of-pocket expenses of medical care.
