January marks the start of a new year full of promise for us all. I am told that Oprah Winfrey shared her thoughts about the new year when she said “Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in usâ€.
Our theme for the combined Interfaith Reminiscence and Senior Service on Wednesday, January 15 in the Parlor at Community United Methodist Church will be “Going Onâ€. Our scripture for the service will be from 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.â€
We will be singing songs for Epiphany which Pastor Grace calls that “Ah ha!†moment when the light goes on and we begin to realize what a wonderful gift of hope Christ was for all of us.
Joan and Clyde Uebele will provide their special style of folk music with fiddle and washtub bass and they will invite all of us to participate using percussion instruments for some of the songs.
