CUMC will join other United Methodist Church congregations in celebration of UMCOR Sunday on March 21 and 22. Through UMCOR Sunday offerings, United Methodist congregations fund the cost of the operation of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), allowing the organization to utilize 100% of specified contributions for the designated projects.

For 80 years, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), has been helping those whose lives have been upended by storms, wars, climate change, and displacement. As the denomination’s designated disaster-relief agency, UMCOR has provided humanitarian relief in response to conflict and natural disasters, as well as emergency preparedness training. UMCOR is also involved in global development work, such as health, water and sanitation, and food security. Formerly known as One Great Hour of Sharing, the UMCOR Sunday offering continues to make an impact through extravagant grace and generosity of United Methodists. UMCOR works in the United States and in more than 80 other countries to assist people regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
