Thanks to Bob and Norma Lyon, we are invited to have our next STARS meeting Lisle at the Morton Arboretum. The plan would be to have lunch around 12:30 pm and then spend time talking or just enjoying being outdoors on the 1700-acre campus with all of the beautiful trees and flowers.
Bob tells me that the food service in the Gingko Café has changed. They now have you order your food and give you a beeper to let you know where to pick up your food from a central location. This has made it much easier for many of us because there is less time spent standing in line or maneuvering around other folks who are also getting their food. Another plus for a visit to the Arboretum is their attention to special needs guests including a large area for special needs parking near the main building.
In order to get us into the Arboretum without an admission fee and to reserve the appropriate number of tables, Bob will need to know who plans to attend by Mon May 7 so please let us know if you plan to attend by either emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 630-983-1397.
Robert Louis Stevenson is quoted as saying:
It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes claims upon (our) hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanates from old trees that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.
Let’s celebrate the renewal that spring brings at the Arboretum!
