Susan Keaton will lead a discussion on A Good Neighborhood by Theresa Anne Fowler. This novel is about a tight knit North Carolina neighborhood and two families. A professor of forestry and ecology is raising her bright bi-racial son when a family with new money buy the place behind them They proceed to raze the house and cut down the trees to build a showplace. These two families find themselves at odds: first. over a historic oak tree and soon after, the blossoming romance between their two teenagers. The book asks big questions about life in America today. It is described as a modern morality tale that is hard to put down and forget.
