Pat Becker

Chair, Mission Committee

Pat Becker and her family have been attending CUMC since the mid 90s. In addition to  the Mission Committee,  Pat serves on the Diversity Outreach Committee and the Hunger Commission and is a member of United Methodist Women.  Pat has always enjoyed travel and has been on Mission trips to Honduras and Kenya. Pat enjoys the contemporary service but makes a point of attending all three services during the year.  Outside of church Pat is an independent consultant and enjoys spending time with her family and gardening.

Rich Fleming

Chair, Administrative Team

Rich Fleming and his wife Sue have been members at CUMC for 32 years.  Rich is the current Chairperson of the Administrative Team and a volunteer with the CUMC Pads Committee which works with the homeless of DuPage County.  He is an avid gardener and plays softball and pickleball on a regular basis.

June Green

Chair, Diversity Outreach Committee

June has been a member of Community for over 50 years and is Chair of the Diversity Outreach Committee. June believes the church has the responsibility and opportunity to affect change in the local community and beyond. All people are of sacred value. June is a loyal attendee of the Contemporary Service and is an active member in the Kairos adult Sunday school class. June is a fifth grade teacher and, when not teaching, is an avid reader of science fantasy and the occasional mystery novel. She also loves spending time together with her family and friends.

Hunter Henderson

Chair, Trustees

Hunter Has been a member of Community since 2018 and is the Chairman of The Board of Trustees. Hunter enjoys taking care of our building and making it a safe, comfortable, and beautiful environment for all those who enter in. Hunter enjoys attending the Traditional Service and singing in the choir as he has been in choirs for many years and has sung pieces in five different languages. Outside of Community UMC, Hunter is very dedicated to his loving partner, family, friends and to spending time outdoors to reconnect with his personal energy. 

Mari Schirmer

Financial Secretary

Mari joined First EUB (which later became Community United Methodist) Church in 1966 right after graduating from North Central College.  She has always been an active participant at Community.  Her main passion is United Methodist Women and she is active on the local, District and Conference levels.  Mari is also a member of the Mission Committee at CUMC.  When retiring from Lisle Savings Bank, after 20 years as a loan officer, she continued to pursue her interest in dealing with numbers by volunteering to be the Financial Secretary for CUMC.
