July 2023

Thanks to your support, CUMC’s mission team has been working hard to provide blessings to our brothers and sisters in the DuPage PADS program staying at the Interim Housing Center in Downers Grove.

  • A deluxe ice cream bar was provided to over 50 kids and families as part of their summer kickoff event June 23!
  • An amazing dinner from Mission BBQ for over 150 people was served on June 30.

Stay tuned for other upcoming events and projects to spread God’s love to those without a home. Thanks again for continuing to support this ministry, and thanks to the volunteers that made it happen!

July 2022

As part of CUMC’s continued effort to support our homeless community, we partnered with DuPage PADS to identify the specific needs of those individuals living in the Interim Housing Center. CUMC recently provided much-needed cleaning supplies for PADS clients and has an August initiative planned to provide clothing and shoes to the children as they head to school in the fall. Stay tuned for ways you can continue to support this ministry, and thank you for your continued financial support. To find out additional ways you can volunteer, or stay up to date on what is happening, visit the PADS website where you can request to get on their email distribution list!.

June 2022

CUMC’s PADS ministry continues to partner in providing assistance to the least of these. Our relationship with PADS leadership continues, as they identify needs for those individuals and families who are staying in the hotel in Downers Grove, which PADS purchased in Spring 2022.

  1. We were able to use funds generously donated by our congregation to provide gift cards for parents of kids in the PADS hotel to purchase summer clothing, shoes, swimsuits, and whatever else they needed!
  2. We re-purposed the laundry cart from our PADS storage room, and filled it with activities for kids to use at the hotel.

Stay tuned for future updates on the PADS organization and how CUMC can continue in this ministry to the homeless.
