The Judicial Council (comprised of nine members, see below) is the “court” of The United Methodist Church which determines the constitutionality of acts or proposed acts of the General, Jurisdictional, Central, and Annual Conferences. It also rules on whether acts of other official bodies of the denomination conform to The Book of Discipline.

The Judiciary Council will meet on Tues Apr 25 to decide on the legality of the election of Bishop Karen Oliveto who is a self-avowed homosexual in a same-sex marriage.  For full details click here to visit the website.
