Youth Connection

Registration | Middle School | High School | Fellowship | Service & Justice

At Community UMC, youth and all their questions about faith and the Church are welcome. It’s through our questions that our hearts, minds, and spirits grow. Through ministries of faith formation like Sunday School and Confirmation, to opportunities for fellowship and service, young people build relationship with God, one another, and further develop an identity as a follower of Jesus.

Middle School

On Sunday mornings, middle school students (6th-8th grade) gather for discussion and scripture exploration, exploring topics like building strong, healthy friendships, dealing with doubt, and understanding our identity as beloved children of God. Middle schoolers gather weekly in room 306 from 10:00 – 10:55am; parent/guardian sign-in for middle school is also in room 306.

Confirmation is offered for older middle school youth and meets bi-monthly. If you have questions about our confirmation program, please contact Deacon Sharon.

High School

High schoolers are invited to “High School Connection”, a once-monthly gathering on Sunday mornings from 10:00 – 10:55am, where 9th-12th grade students meet in our Welcome Center, before joining their leaders and walking to a local coffee shop for fellowship and conversation geared to their age level.

Fellowship

Middle School & High School youth gather together bi-monthly for fellowship, games, activities, and outings. From working together to solve puzzles in an escape room, to supporting one another at sporting/music events, to meeting up with other youth from around our annual conference, our time together is all about building fellowship as a family of faith, and as disciples of Jesus.

Be sure to check out Enews and our monthly newsletter on upcoming activities!

Service & Justice

Youth often say that they long to see faith put into action. We encourage our youth to get involved in a variety of service opportunities, from helping with food drives, to packing meals at Feed My Starving Children, to going on annual summer mission trips with other church members, to showing love and support for our neighbors, like marching in the Aurora Pride Parade. Youth are also encouraged to share ideas with us on how we can be active and serve in our community, to take initiative and lead us!
