Stockholders for Youth Mission Trip

Why Become a Stockholder?

JHYF will be working with Kids Camp at United Church of Rogers Park, Chicago, July 8-13.

We will be working along side youth from the One Summer Chicago program, a city wide program employing student from CPS.

We will be working in the garden ministry, going to the beach with the kids, doing crafts, singing, and having a good time. On our off hours we will explore Chicago and Evanston. We’ll visit Northwestern University, Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, and First UMC Evanston. Wednesday night we will host a hot dog cook out in the UCRP Peace Garden, Thursday we will dance the night away to Brazilian music in Evanston.

Your gifts will help us with our meals and CTA passes.

SHYF will be working with ASP, the Appalachia Service Project, in Knott County, Kentucky. This is ASPs 50th summer of making homes Warmer, Safer and Drier, in central Appalachia.

We will be in two teams doing home repair. We’ve paid all of our fees to ASP for housing, materials and meals through the generous donations from Kohl’s Department Stores. We have several women in the church that meet with Kohl’s employees on a monthly basis to do art projects. We will be taking some of these drawings to ASP to share with the families we serve.

Your gifts will help us rent vans and purchase fuel on our journey!
